This page is the honest summary of how we work. The full agreement is shown and signed before payment, and it says the same things in legal words. If the two ever disagree, the signed agreement governs — and we will fix this page.
You pay in full, before we begin. Until work begins, you may cancel for a full refund. After work begins, the delivery promise and the correction round below take the place of refunds (any withdrawal rights your local law gives you still apply).
The delivery clock — up to 2 days for Standard, 24 hours for Express — starts when everything is in place: your materials are complete, you have approved the story outline, the agreement is signed, and payment has cleared. The promise is a complete first film by the deadline.
We guarantee a finished film, directed by a filmmaker from our network, built from your recording, words, and photographs, delivered by the deadline. One correction round is included for anything we got wrong: errors, a wrong photograph, a misspelled name, a technical problem. We cannot guarantee taste — no honest filmmaker could — and we do not promise any result beyond the film itself.
Your price includes a film of up to 2 minutes. Each additional minute, or part of one, is $150. Films run up to 5 minutes per order, never more. The full price is always shown before you pay.
We may decline or remove material, at our discretion, before or during production. If we decline before work begins, you are refunded in full.
By sending material, you confirm that you have the right and permission to share it — including photographs that show other people, children (with a parent or guardian's permission), and relatives who have passed away. Owning a print of a photograph is not always the same as owning the photograph itself; professional portraits are the usual example. You are responsible for claims that arise from material you sent.
Scenes we create are illustrative: places, objects, eras, and silhouettes. We will never create a scene of a real, identifiable person doing something they never did, and we will never clone a voice, unless the person (or their family, for someone who has passed) has given separate, written permission for that exact use. If you are shown in a film and want something corrected or removed, write to us and we will act on it.
Every film uses licensed library music, so it can be played and shared anywhere without being muted or removed. We cannot include a commercial song of your choosing, however beloved.
Our filmmakers direct with modern tools, including AI-assisted scene creation. Every film says so, plainly, on an end card: "Scenes created with AI tools, directed by [your filmmaker's name]." We would rather tell you than have you wonder.
The finished film is yours to keep, share, and screen, forever. Copyright in purely machine-generated elements is uncertain under current law, and we will not pretend otherwise; everything a human authored in your film — the edit, the arrangement, the direction — is licensed or assigned to you to the fullest extent the law allows.
Your recordings and photographs are your family's story, not our material. We keep source material only as long as we need it to make your film and honor the correction round, then delete it on the schedule stated in the signed agreement. We never sell your material, never use it to train anything, and never use your film in our advertising without your separate, written permission — you will always be asked, and "no" is a complete answer.
We accept only as many films as our filmmakers can make well. If a date cannot be guaranteed, the order page will say so before payment — we never sell a deadline we cannot keep.
Questions about any of this? The order page is the way in; a person reads every message. Sample films shown in our advertising are fictional stories, or shared with the family's written permission.
